Coke Studio Philippines - 2019
This Coke Studio motion design project has a special place in my heart. Beginning with a super rough storyboard provided by someone from XS Multimedia, I did the final illustration using Adobe Illustrator and Adobe After Effects. The exception was the intricate liquid animations and geometric transitions.
The process involved a substantial amount of rigging using the DUIK Tool after importing the designs into After Effects. Despite the complexity, the hard work was made all the more rewarding thanks to my awesome Account Executive/Project Manager, Jacque Del Rosario, who ensured the project was approved as quickly as possible and with minimal revisions.
It was a demanding endeavor, with five days of sleepless nights that led to me falling ill. But seeing the final piece in public made it all worthwhile. Interestingly, this project started as a freelance gig, but I was unaware that it would become the basis for getting hired by XS Multimedia full-time.
After weeks of intensive effort, during which I not only provided the final style but also polished the illustrations, I was finally able to crack open a cold Coke and savor the fruits of my labor. šŸ˜¬ Reflecting on it now, this project wasn't just an artistic accomplishment; it marked a significant milestone in my professional journey. The blend of creativity, collaboration, and commitment truly made this one of my favorite projects so far.

ASUS ProArt Expertbook Introduction - 2019
One of the most expansive projects I undertook with the XS Team was raising awareness of ASUS' Pro Art lineup. The mission involved generating a series of videos, and my particular role was to conceptualize and lead the production of a unique promo video. This was both daunting and thrilling since I was not only leading the video team but also producing a video as one of the three required for the campaign.
Given ASUS' provision of 3D assets and the focus on a local audience, we infused innovation with a sense of the familiar. I proposed we infuse clap and stomp rhythms, reminiscent of Apple's dynamic promo videos. The objective was clear: design cut-to-beat videos that disseminate information while keeping viewers engaged. Both the creative director and writer were quick to embrace the concept.
ASUS international team's involvement greatly enriched our creative journey. They supplied us with rendered 3D assets of laptops and captivating 3D motion designs from the official introduction video. To this, we added elements from licensed templates, melding them seamlessly through diligent compositing.
The resultant piece was a dynamic fusion of a Taglish (Filipino + English) script, meticulously pieced together to strike a chord with our target demographic. The interplay of cultural undertones, tech finesse, and inventive narrative truly differentiated this project. Opting to tackle the clap and stomp for the team was key to meeting our deadline and maximizing the video's impact.
Reflecting on this endeavor, it's crucial to highlight that the collective ideas and input from the entire video team were instrumental. Their contributions were invaluable, and the project's success wouldn't have been possible without such a unified effort. The entire experience underscored the power of collaborative creativity, a journey I'm deeply honored to have shared.

QNET IR Animation - 2019
The QNET IR motion design video presented a unique and intricate challenge due to the human elements involved and certain restrictions on art direction. Tasked with rigging three 2D characters according to precise client specifications, I found myself grappling with the complexities of capturing the desired look and feel.
Originally, I anticipated rigging the characters the old-fashioned way, employing basic tools like strings and sticks. However, the DUIK tool emerged as an unexpected savior, making the process far more streamlined and efficient. šŸ¤© Even though the CBB (Closing Billboard) was included, it was a stylistic divergence from the video's primary theme, adding another layer to the challenge.
What set this project apart was the client's desire to blend the tutorial format with promotional elements. This unique fusion required careful navigation around excessive text. We strategically utilized the three characters' elements to maintain visual interest and coherence without overwhelming the audience.
I must extend special thanks to my colleague Sharmaine Lopez, whose exceptional voice-over work breathed life into the project and elevated it to a whole new level.
I'm especially grateful for this project as it afforded me ample time to explore the vast capabilities of the DUIK tool. The end result was not only a successful realization of the client's vision but also a significant step forward in my own professional development. The balance of technical proficiency and creative adaptation, coupled with Sharmaine's incredible vocal talent, made this video an exciting journey in motion design."

Henry's Cameras Promo Video - 2019
This video marks a significant milestone for me ā€“ it was my first assignment as an official member of XS Multimediaā€”again. šŸ˜„ Though the time constraints presented challenges, the concept's potential truly shone through. While some transitions and elements might have benefited from further refinement, the constraints also inspired creative problem-solving. Special thanks to my colleague Sharmaine Lopez for providing the voice over for the whole video.
My rigging work on this project was at a more basic level, but it became a vital learning experience that shaped my subsequent projects. Reflecting on this video, I see not only the promise of what was created but also the growth and insights that came from working within tight deadlines. It's a testament to the exciting journey after returning to XS Multimedia, and I'm proud of what we achieved.
EDIT 2023*: I just saw that they're still using this material inside their shop.
